Fun with Fisheye and more…

Monday, July 28th, 2008

My band’s show was awesome! Thanks to all who came out!

I bought a new camera on Friday: a lomographic fisheye

I spent most of Saturday hanging out with my brother and taking photos with said camera. Early in the morning, I went to the library to drop off and pick up some CDs and then relaxed with some Bing Crosby and coffee before heading out to the bicycle shop to get it fixed (I ran over some glass on Thursday and the back tire is shot). Anyway, Ray came with me and unfortunately I am sans bike until this coming Saturday. Riding to the bus to work all this week. I might bring some walking shoes and walk home, it’s not that far.

After dropping off the bike, we at at Jackamo’s Pizza. Amazing! It might even be better than Bazbeauxs…shhh…don’t tell them I said that ;} We finished devouring and headed to Fountain Square’s music shot Arthur’s, in which I bought a new bass! It was an impulsive buy, but I still have the full amount of my stimulus check and I couldn’t resist the color: PINK! :D (Photos soon) I picked up a new strap and bag with it as well.

Then we heading to downtown Fountain Square and wandered into Value Village and other random shops. Eventually, my camera’s film was complete so we headed to CVS for developing. While we waited, we went to Garfield park and soaked in the awesome day. We got the photos after a quick icecream stop and they turned out great!! I’ve posted them on my flickr (including the God Made Robots show) for your enjoyment : Click for Flickr

Another Beautiful Weekend

Tuesday, May 6th, 2008

After voting on Friday, I went home to prepare for Sammi’s arrival. We went to the Harrison Center First Friday Art Show, and watched a movie. She spent the night and in the morning we made pancakes and watched Saturday morning cartoons before meeting up with her sister for lunch.

After lunch, God Made Robots had a full practice at BP’s. We ran through all songs and selected 6 songs for Candace’s graduation party. Then we took silly photos and I worked them up in photoshop all evening. The result is our new band photo:

God Made Robots

Sunday, after church, Bethany and I hung out and walked to downtown. We stopped at some condos that were open to viewing. Some were cute and some were over-the-top! Anyways, too expensive for either of us, so we walked to the music shop. I bought the new Portishead Album as well as the new Flight of the Conchords album (in which I received 2 free posters!). Afterwards, we bought some groceries and walked back home.

Best Saturday Ever!

Monday, April 28th, 2008

Saturday was such a wonderful day! The weather was great and I hung out with Bethany and Elyce pretty much the whole day.

Fountain Square was having a parade and our friends were going to have a float in it, so spontaneously I joined my two friends and walked to the square. There was a good number of people and by the looks of some of the floats it was going to be fantastic. Now this was no ordinary parade. This was an art parade. On Procession Art Parade, organized by the Indianapolis Museum of Art (IMA), debuted new works from the artists in exhibition (also called On Procession). There were gnomes, mice, bats, soldiers, eyeballs, a theremin, (human) pinatas and, best of all, robots!

It was the best parade I’ve ever seen.

After the parade, we made a pit stop into the knit shop to lust after beautiful yarns. Then we ate a light meal at Mexican Grills. If you haven’t dined there yet, I highly recommend it – the link goes to a map :)

After food, we decided to go to the IMA. We received 50% off the current exhibition coupons from the parade and since they were one day only and my band practice was cancelled, we took advantage of the discount. The current exhibit is “Breaking the Mode” – Contemporary Fashion from the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. It’ll be up through June 1st, so if you love fashion, you should go! Support your city’s museum!

After the exhibit, we wandered around on the IMA grounds. It was quite beautiful. I love being in gardens. I took a lot of photos of the flowers.

After the great day with Elyce and Bethany, Elyce went home and I hung out with Bethany, sitting on her porch and just talking and catching up. She was in London visiting Bruce and PJ and I missed her :)

If you wish to see all the photos I took that day, I have them up on my Flickr site, which you can visit here: Clicky

Well, that wraps up my favorite day this year so far :)
Hope you all had a great weekend as well!
