Saturday was such a wonderful day! The weather was great and I hung out with Bethany and Elyce pretty much the whole day.

Fountain Square was having a parade and our friends were going to have a float in it, so spontaneously I joined my two friends and walked to the square. There was a good number of people and by the looks of some of the floats it was going to be fantastic. Now this was no ordinary parade. This was an art parade. On Procession Art Parade, organized by the Indianapolis Museum of Art (IMA), debuted new works from the artists in exhibition (also called On Procession). There were gnomes, mice, bats, soldiers, eyeballs, a theremin, (human) pinatas and, best of all, robots!

It was the best parade I’ve ever seen.

After the parade, we made a pit stop into the knit shop to lust after beautiful yarns. Then we ate a light meal at Mexican Grills. If you haven’t dined there yet, I highly recommend it – the link goes to a map

After food, we decided to go to the IMA. We received 50% off the current exhibition coupons from the parade and since they were one day only and my band practice was cancelled, we took advantage of the discount. The current exhibit is “Breaking the Mode” – Contemporary Fashion from the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. It’ll be up through June 1st, so if you love fashion, you should go! Support your city’s museum!
After the exhibit, we wandered around on the IMA grounds. It was quite beautiful. I love being in gardens. I took a lot of photos of the flowers.

After the great day with Elyce and Bethany, Elyce went home and I hung out with Bethany, sitting on her porch and just talking and catching up. She was in London visiting Bruce and PJ and I missed her
If you wish to see all the photos I took that day, I have them up on my Flickr site, which you can visit here: Clicky
Well, that wraps up my favorite day this year so far ![]()
Hope you all had a great weekend as well!
