    At work?

    Monday, December 31st, 2007

The internet can be so boring sometimes.

I’m jamming to my new iPod, trying to forget last week and wishing I were home cleaning. Yes, you heard me, I wish I were cleaning. Now granted, I’m far from the neat freak stereotype, but I will always follow my mother’s superstitions and wive’s tales. One being the entering of a new year with a clean home.

    What’s your New Year’s tradition/superstition?

With the good comes the bad

    Saturday, December 29th, 2007

So yesterday my brother, Ray, picked me up and we headed to the Apple store on the north side. I had managed to save up some money to buy myself an iPod. I’m pretty happy with the purchase and I still have enough money to pay my rent for January :)

After a good purchase and a good dinner, Ray dropped me off at home. I came home to find that my birds cage door was wide open! In a panic, I searched, only to find my bird, Hanzie, dead on the floor.

I called Ray and he came back. I cried and Ray disposed of my bird.

    So sad.

I love my apartment. It’s so very cozy. It brings me memories of europe and feels like a minature house. It amazes me that “home” was so hard for me to find last year – physically, emotionally and spiritually. I had friends, I had family, but I didn’t have home, and that made me feel so lost. Now I do and I don’t know what I would do without it. I plan on staying here for a long time, on all levels.

    Enjoy :)

Nothing new to report. Christmas is coming, which means deadlines are coming, which means stress is soon to follow- but on a good note I get to find out who my Secret Santa is at work. :D

And I’m really looking forward to this movie, even though it won’t be out till January 18.
