I took the day off yesterday to recover from a nasty cold. I stayed home and watched movies/TV. It was great. Still a bit coughy today, but feeling 100 times better. Of course, though, today I have much catching up to do.

Finally finished the Harry Potter books! I have to say I’m pretty proud of myself. I didn’t think I could keep focus on a 200 page book, let alone a 700+ page book! *pats self on back*

So, I went to Dr. Hedges (optometrist) yesterday for my first eye exam in about 15 years. After viewing text and seeing through different lenses, Dr. Hedges came to the conclusion that I have a slight astigmatism in my left eye (which is the one that usually waters/strains when I read/computer/etc). While viewing in the big lens machine, I saw clear, sharp letters on the wall, and then Dr. Hedges showed me my current eyesight and I was shocked to see how much blurrier it was!

So I picked out some glasses that my insurance covered. They are Vogue glasses and look sort of like the frames pictured below:

They should be done in about a week and a half.

I’ve never had glasses before, so this is exciting!

Finished up book 5 this weekend. I’m already to pg. 125ish in book 6. I’m really surprised at how fast I’m reading these!

I bought The Kite Runner as well yesterday at borders. I hear it’s good.

Not much to report. My parakeet is still shy and a bit freaked out, but at least he’s singing a bit more lately. He had a fit when I covered him for bedtime last night. I hope he’ll grow out of his shyness.
