Apartment Update

Wednesday, September 26th, 2007

dscf2400.jpg

Finally getting my apartment closer to where I’d like it. I drew out a sketch of what I would like my living space like and it’s coming along very slowly, but it’s not impossible!

I went to target yesterday and bought a couple of barstools (see below picture from target’s website) to use as a makeshift side table and a bird cage table (I’m getting a budgie tomorrow!!), also I bought a new table lamp and a floor lamp. I love love love the table lamp. It’s base is the eiffel tower.

I also got a hamper for the bedroom so I can stop throwing my dirty clothes all over the floor.

I’ll be cleaning up my desk space and setting up my floor lamp tonight before small group.

I’m going to be buying this book Abode a la Mode: 44 Projects for Hip Home Decor from amazon today. Tonya B let me borrow her copy from the library and There are so many ideas that I can put to use for my new place.

Here’s the barstool: (they were only $18 a piece!)

Weekend

Monday, September 24th, 2007

I had so much fun this weekend!

20070922_autumn.jpg

On Saturday, I participated in Masterpiece in a Day and painted a painting next to Quincy Owens and Beth Hall (Painting pictured above). It was great fun, I got there at 9am to register and turned in my painting at 3pm. Unfortunately I started getting a migrane, so I went home and napped until 5pm, just in time to drive back to Fountain Square for the winners. Matt Hale’s coworker won 1st prize! His piece was awesome; it was very illustrative and colorful. I wish I had taken a photo of it.

After Masterpiece in a Day, Ray and I traveled to Cincinnati to watch Wolfy perform at the Poison Room. They did great dispite the venue’s cable for the keyboard cutting out during one song. The sound guy replaced it and all went well after that.

We didn’t get home till 2:30am, but it was worth it because Ray’s friend who stopped by baked a delicious apple pie and the Wolfy boys, Ray and I devoured it!

Sunday was good and relaxing. I wanted to watch the new War documentary on PBS, but I fell asleep :(

Things feel like home

Monday, September 17th, 2007

This weather is making me feel like I’m back in Munich. The air nicely chilled for a taste of autumn. Even the cool chill of my apartment in the evenings make me feel at home. I can’t wait for the leaves to change, I might actually pull out my film camera and buy some slide film.

I did cry. I was over-sensitive yesterday, but I’m okay. I’ll be okay.

Wolfy and the Bennedicts

Monday, September 3rd, 2007

After delivering food to my brother Ray, I kind of joined in on a Wolfy meeting. Wolfy cracks me up, he’s hyper. It’s as if ate every bit of candy in the vending machine.

PJ and Bruce leave in a week. I’m a bit numb by it at the moment. I’m sure I’ll start crying like a baby on Saturday.

Photos will be coming soon from the past 2 weeks that I haven’t uploaded yet.

Last night after a small show in Carmel for Wolfy, my brother, Ray, Tim and I met up at Rib Fest in Military Park. We were soon joined by PJ a little later. Tim went for the Ribs, Ray, PJ and I went for the Pat Benetar show.

It was amazing! I wish I had charged up my camera to get better photos, but this was so spontaneous, I didn’t know we would do it until right as we were going! Like I said, it was amazing and Pat Benetar looked adorable. Her husband called her Patricia and PJ swears that she looked at me at one point ;)

Anywho, it was a great night that ended nicely at Mojo Coffee house, running into Josh Johnson, and his campain for more hills.
